The Canals

VENETO • ITALY
A city where the streets are water and every turn feels like a scene from a movie.
MY VENICE ADVENTURE
Venice is one of those places you can recognize instantly, but seeing it in person changes everything. The canals, the old buildings rising straight from the water, the boats moving in every direction — the entire city has its own rhythm.
I wanted the full Venice experience, and that meant seeing the city from the water. Riding through the canals in a gondola turned the architecture into a moving backdrop, while the faster boat rides opened up wider views across the lagoon.
Then there was St. Mark's Square — the scale of the basilica, the Campanile and the energy of the piazza made it clear why this is one of the world's great travel icons. Venice wasn't just a stop. It was an experience.

THE GONDOLA
A gondola ride is one of those experiences that can sound touristy until you're actually sitting in the boat. From the water, Venice changes. The buildings feel taller, the narrow passages feel more intimate, and every bridge becomes a frame around the next view.

THE LAGOON
In Venice, the water isn't beside the city — it is part of the city. Moving across the lagoon gives you a completely different sense of place, with domes, bell towers and waterfront buildings unfolding across the horizon.

TRAVEL FILM
Some places need movement — the sound of the water, the passing buildings and the feeling of gliding through a city built around canals.
PRESS PLAY
From the canal, the city becomes the movie.

ST. MARK'S SQUARE
Piazza San Marco is one of those places you've seen long before you arrive. But standing there — surrounded by the arcades, the basilica and the Campanile — gives the scene a scale that photos can't fully explain.

PHOTO JOURNAL
The big landmarks get the attention, but travel is often remembered through the smaller scenes in between — getting on the boat, spotting something unexpected, trying something new and watching everyday life unfold around you.

ONE FOR THE MEMORY BOOK
Some cities you walk through. Venice carries you through.
What stayed with me most was the feeling of moving through a place that works completely differently from almost anywhere else. Boats instead of cars. Canals instead of streets. Centuries-old landmarks around every corner. Venice reminded me that the best part of travel is stepping into a world that doesn't look or feel like home — and letting yourself experience it exactly as it is.
